Welcome. We're The Loose Interpretations.
Our fabulous all-female a cappella group is based in San Francisco, and we've been performing all over the Bay Area since 2004. It's possible you've seen us singing on a street corner, in your local coffee house, taking over your local wine bar, or maybe, you know, in your friend's living room.
But just in case you haven't had a chance to meet us yet (and you totally should!), here's some information you might find helpful:
- We mostly sing original arrangements of pop covers, though our repertoire spans several decades and musical genres...from Gershwin to Annie Lennox, Simon & Garfunkel to Madonna, Stevie Wonder to KT Tunstall, and even a little Bon Jovi. (Yep, Bon Jovi. May he forgive us.)
- We are currently made up of 10 women, though we've been as small as 6 and as large as 13.
- Please note: The term "loose interpretations" applies liberally both to our arrangements and to our performances of them. We don't so much strive for musical perfection as we do for musical fun.
So if you're seeking a fun, off-beat group with a great sense of humor, darn good voices, and songs you'll probably want to sing along to, please contact us. Because we're cheap, too.
